Taiwanese director Chung Mong-hong (Soul, Godspeed) rose to prominence with the award-winning The Fourth Portrait. In A Sun he focuses on the story of how an ordinary family of four is devastated when the younger son is sent to a juvenile detention centre. With 11 Golden Horse nominations, this superb and beautifully-lensed drama stars Wu Chien-ho (Days We Stared at the Sun), Chen Yi-wen (The Cabbie), Samantha Ko (I Love Hong Kong) and Hsu Greg-han (Attention, Love!).

A-ho (Wu) is a boy from an ordinary family. His father A-wen (Chen) is a driving instructor, his mother Qin (Ko) is a hairstylist and his older brother A-hao (Hsu) is a high school student set to enter college. A-hao is a model student while his younger brother is a troublemaker and the black sheep of the family. One day A-ho gets into serious trouble and ends up being sent to a juvenile detention centre. His father’s contempt for him goes to extremes and a series of crises completely shatter the family.
