The arrival of a new film from acclaimed South Korean director Bong Joon Ho (Snowpiercer, Okja, The Host) is always an event but the premiere of Parasite at the Cannes Film Festival – where it won the esteemed Palme d’Or in 2019 – was one of the most strongly anticipated ever. On track to become the biggest Palme d’Or winner of all time at the global box office, this lively family-focused tragicomedy stars the acting talents of Song Kang Ho (Snowpiercer, The Face Reader), Lee Sun Kyun (A Hard Day), Cho Yeo Jeong (Obsessed) and Choi Woo Shik (Train to Busan).

Ki-taek’s (Song) family of four is close but fully unemployed and with a bleak future ahead of them. The son Ki-woo (Choi) is recommended by his friend, a student at a prestigious university, for a well-paid tutoring job, spawning hopes of regular income. Carrying the expectations of all his family, Ki-woo heads to the Park family home for an interview. Arriving at the house of Mr Park (Lee), the owner of a global IT firm, he meets Yeon-kyo (Cho), the beautiful young lady of the house, and from then on an unstoppable string of mishaps lies in wait.
