Cheer Up, Mr. Lee

Although he started out in life as a fashion model, actor Cha Seong-won is widely credited with the revival of South Korean comedy films in the 2000s with appearances in such hits as Kick the Moon, Break Out and Teacher, Mr. Kim. Inthe wacky Cheer Up, Mr. Lee, Cha’s first comedy for a number of years, he teams up with acclaimed director Lee Kae-byeok (Luck Key) and young actress Um Chae-young (The Great Actor, Wonderful Nightmare).


Chul-su (Cha) is a handsome chef who makes people stop in their tracks to watch him in action. Contrary to his perfect appearance Chul-su’s behaviour is childish and erratic. One day he finds out that a young girl Saet-byul (Um) who is currently hospitalised is his daughter. Desperate to attend a friend’s birthday celebration, Saet-byul sneaks out of hospital and with her newly found childlike father in tow, sets out on a fun-packed journey.
