Johnnie To, Hong Kong’s most prolific of filmmakers produces yet another winner with the high-octane Motorway, considered one of the year’s most technically deft action-thrillers. Helmed by director Soi Cheang Pou-soi, this tightly-paced adventure sees Shawn Yue as a rookie cop, alongside Anthony Wong as his soon-to-retire partner, as they take on a notorious criminal who has escaped capture for over fifteen years.

Sean (Shawn Yue) is a brash junior officer in Stealth Riders, an elite police unit that targets fugitives on the run. Jensen (Guo Xiaodong) is a legendary underworld getaway driver, who has avoided arrest throughout his criminal career.  When out of the blue Sean comes across Jensen, he thinks his day to shine has finally come.
